Graduation

As our Grade 12 students approach graduation (June 26, 10 am), many are beginning to make important decisions about their futures — whether that be pursuing a trade, attending college or university, entering the workforce, or taking time to explore their options. This period is both exciting and challenging, and it often comes with a great deal of reflection, uncertainty, and change.

We recognize that the transition from high school to life after graduation can bring stress and pressure. Students may feel anxious about making the “right” choice, comparing themselves to others, or managing academic demands while completing applications and meeting deadlines. These feelings are normal, and we encourage open, supportive conversations at home to help students feel confident in taking the next step that best suits their interests, strengths, and goals.

Our school is committed to helping every student find their own path. We offer several supports to assist in this process, including:

  • September 8 – planning presentation
  • September 15 - Mini College /University Fair @ SFDCI 12pm-2pm
  • October - November - individual Gr. 12 student interviews

  • October 21- application presentation - how to apply 8:10-8:45am

Application seminars-

  • sign up Thursdays in November and Fridays in December

We want to emphasize that there is no single “right” path after high school. Success looks different for every student, and plans may change along the way — and that’s okay. Growth often comes from exploration and experience.

We encourage families to continue these important discussions at home. Ask your child what they are curious about, what they enjoy learning, and what kind of environments help them thrive. Your support and understanding can make all the difference during this period of transition. Encouraging your child to apply sooner rather than latter may provide them with an early acceptance and reduce their stress. Early acceptances for Colleges and Universities is early  November.

If you or your child would like additional support, please don’t hesitate to contact our guidance office. Together, we can help ensure that each student moves forward with confidence and purpose.
